OUR APPROACH

Focus Ventures, located in Palo Alto, California, was founded in 1997 and currently has over $830 million under management. Focus Ventures invests in privately held, expansion stage technology companies that have previously received backing from a leading early stage venture capital firm. We seek communications and software companies that have completed initial product development and have begun the marketing of their products and/or services. Most of the technical risk is behind them, and they are seeking additional capital to further expand their sales and marketing efforts.

• Demonstrated market acceptance

• Previous backing from top-tier venture capital firm(s)

Our investments are typically in the $3-8 million range, although we consider larger or smaller amounts in certain situations. We serve as the lead investor in approximately three-quarters of the rounds in which we participate.
